Genting Fun Foodie Tour !

Day 1 .

All of the bloggers and our + ones gathered at Golden Mile Shopping Centre @ 6 am in the morning.
We were travelling with Five Stars Travels.

Stopover at Yong Peng Rest Centre.

We left our barangs in Clara's room cause our room wasn't ready and then went for lunch and buy prepaid card !

Lunch was what I craved for, Thai food @ the food court next to the bowling place.

ST's a coward, he don't eat spicy food so no tomyum for us.

Bill is about RM 50 , if you go in big group, I strongly recommend this place for food.

Affordable and super yums ! Just like our local zhi char stalls.

Okay, about prepaid cards.

I bought mine @ maxim hotel basement, but you also can get it at First World Shopping Centre.( realised that on the second day)

the DIGI sim card is RM28 with RM20 for ready use.

Data usage is RM8 a day , usage unlimited.

So in total spent RM38 to keep myself connected. ( top up RM10 for the last day for data)

Neighbours , Nich & HP came over to chit chat & take pictures.

After dinner, there's always entertainment @ genting.

Although the system kinda sucks, meh. The song lists were rather updated, yay for that !
We pay RM 88 for a room in total , for 2 hours of singing time and a few bottles of mineral water.
Look , we have about 10 people so each of us paid RM 8.
BOOMZ. That's less than SGD 4.

Cannot complain anymore. I mean look at how much we paid.

Day 2.

Ya, I'm very boring at buffet noms.

After breakfast is fun time !
We could either go to the outdoor theme park or the strawberry farm.
As I am a coward, I opted for the Strawberry Farm.
I also did my homework before I travel and found out that there's a lavender farm.
I was really excited then !

We spend about approx. 2.5 hours ( inclusive of travel time) at the farm , headed back to hotel to freshen up & change camera battery !

Dinner is buffet at the coffee terrace!
I've heard so much about it , & finally my turn to try it has come !!!!!

Dinner @ Genting Palace (云华宫)

Dish 1 : Jiang Nan Platte.

Consists of the Mango Salad

this is meat ball and old cucumber if I don't remember wrongly.

Sotong ball with cheese filling.

Ohmygoodness, this is so dam good!
The amount of cheese fillings were just nice and it does not over take the freshness of the sotong ball . Strongly suggested for families with toddlers.
They will like it.

Dish 2 : Double-boiled Clear Chicken Soup with America Ginseng

I personally is a huge fan of soups , especially those chinese soup that have to be boiled for hours. The soup is not oily and you can taste all the essence of the ingredients, chicken meat is soft and tender as well .

Dish 3 : Spiced Baked Village Chicken

It's a bit difficult to elaborate the taste but the chicken is baked with various spices from both western and asian. Pretty unique dish because the spices were so fragant but not overpowering.

Dish 4 : Steamed Red Snapper with Preserved Vegetable & Shredded Meat.

This dish is great for people who do not really fancy fish dishes because you could only taste the freshness of the fish. If you still dont like the smell of the freshness of the fish then I'm sorry you are missing out a small portion of your life. The preserved vegetable and shredded meat goes well with the fish. This is also my first time trying this combination as well.

Dish 5 : Pan fried white Prawns with Mild spicy & sweet chilli sauce.

I love prawns, okay I love seafood in general.This is sweet sour pork with the pork replaced by prawns and a little bit of chilli. Quite a hassle to remove the prawn shells though but also my first time trying out this combination!

Dish 6 : Braised Baby Abalone & Sea Cucumber with bean Curd & Garden Green.

This is generally an abalone dish where we eat in wedding dinners and restuarants. But abalones deserve a love.

Dish 7 : Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage & Yam

The fried rice is so fragnant please. Every grain of rice is absorbed by the essence of the sausage &yam and it also carries a tint of sweetness brought by the sausage. I love it. If you are looking for something more filling do consider this dish.

Dish 8: Chilled Sweeten White Fungus with Red Dates & Lotus Seed.

Just Qing Tang la. A little sweet for me though. Sweet desserts lovers will like it.

Dish 9: Soften Glutinous Ball stuff with Mango & Cream

This is so dope please. I can die for this. K kidding. Chef Jacky shared a mid-length story about how he managed to get the recipe but I couldn't remember much . Not the point because this dessert dish simply MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. It's so soft and the sweetness just nice. It's mango and cream for its filling and this thin green glutinous skin holding it.

It was nice meeting Chef Jacky and listening to him explain how he create these dishes specially for us. If you are interested in the dinner menu we had at Genting Palace , please call the restuarant to enquire. I suggest that if you want to enjoy these dishes above, please call and make a reservation with them and allow them to prepare beforehand.

In case you are wondering, the restuarant serve vegetarian food as well!
